CLO PROGRAM
A core component of SC CIC is the Cyber Liaison Officer (CLO) program. CLOs are information security, information technology, and administrative professionals responsible for the security of their critical infrastructure organizations.
CLOS:
- Serve as the point of contact for their organization
- Coordinate onboarding into SC CIC
- Select and facilitate SC CIC services for their organization
- Report cyber threats, incidents, or concerns
- Receive and distribute SC CIC threat intelligence to the people who can act on it
CLOs play a key role in helping SC CIC fulfill its mission to elevate South Carolina’s security posture by helping to facilitate two-way information sharing, cultivating cybersecurity awareness, and providing invaluable frontline feedback that helps shape how SC CIC can best serve its participants and the state.

Becoming a CLO grants access to:
- Monthly CLO calls that share cyber threat intelligence tailored to the state’s current threat landscape, recaps of recent incidents handled by SC CIC that include the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) utilized by threat actors, guest speakers, and security tool demonstrations that participants can utilize within their own environments
- Curated threat intelligence bulletins focusing on emerging threats with the potential to impact South Carolina critical infrastructure
- The CLO group chat, an established platform for secure information sharing and real-time discussion of issues faced in daily work
- Networking opportunities, both virtually and in-person, to help CLOs build relationships with the greater information security community
- Targeted training and workshops that cover new and existing tools and resources to help secure their environments
